To establish a comprehensive framework for Knowledge Management Excellence that strengthens learning, research, innovation, collaboration and institutional memory across educational institutions.

Why it exists

Among the six Excellence Committees, this is the one that makes the entire architecture sustainable. Policies, curricula, research, best practices, innovations and institutional experiences have little long-term value unless they are systematically captured, organised, shared and reused.

The Committee positions IPEC in Knowledge Management for education — an area that remains significantly underdeveloped despite its importance.

Intellectual lineage

The Committee's work draws on Peter Drucker, Ikujiro Nonaka, Thomas Davenport, Larry Prusak and Swami Ranganathananda, adapted to the Indian educational context.

To create a knowledge-driven education ecosystem where institutions continuously create, capture, organise, share, apply and preserve knowledge to improve learning, research, innovation, governance and institutional excellence — treating knowledge as a strategic national asset.

Mission

To develop frameworks, standards, digital ecosystems and collaborative networks that enable educational institutions to manage knowledge systematically throughout its lifecycle, integrating Knowledge Management, organisational learning, artificial intelligence, digital libraries, research management, open educational resources, learning analytics and communities of practice.

To design competency-based curricula integrating Knowledge Management, organisational learning, research methods, digital literacy, AI-assisted knowledge systems, information architecture, collaboration and innovation management.

Dr. V. V. Rao serves as Chairperson of the Knowledge Management Excellence Committee. The Committee focuses on developing systems that enable educational institutions and organisations to create, capture, organise, share and apply knowledge for continuous learning and innovation.
