01 — Flagship project

Project Raaj Drishti — Emperor's Vision. Teacher's Legacy. Nation's Future.

Every child remembers a teacher. Few remember to invest in one. Teacher development remains one of the least supported forms of philanthropy in India, and one of the highest-leverage.

01 — Problem statement

What this project exists to address.

India celebrates toppers, entrepreneurs, scientists and leaders. Every one of them began with a teacher. Yet teacher development remains one of the least supported forms of philanthropy.

Committed leadership and capable faculty already exist in Indian institutions. What is missing is everyday practice: management systems, improvement methods and evidence-based decisions built into how an institution runs, rather than bolted on when someone asks for a report.

The result is familiar. Faculty development arrives as an event rather than a capability. Outcome-based education is documented for accreditation and practised unevenly in the classroom. Institutions collect a great deal of data and use very little of it. Good work stays local, and avoidable mistakes are repeated elsewhere.

Guiding principle

Your support becomes capability. Capability becomes outcomes.

02 — Objectives

What the project sets out to achieve.

  • 01Establish teaching as India's highest-impact profession, supported and equipped to lead institutional improvement
  • 02Develop approximately 108 educator leaders and 100 MA Education Fellows in Phase 1
  • 03Build a student improvement culture through 5S and Kaizen projects for Classes VI to XII
  • 04Produce IPET-2030, a national integrated performance excellence toolkit
  • 05Publish a policy white paper and a replication toolkit from the pilot
  • 06Prove, at pilot scale, the model that a ₹30 Crore national programme would scale

  2. Q3–Q4 — Develop: capability programmes begin, fellows inducted, projects scoped

  3. Q5–Q6 — Implement: projects run, student showcases begin

  4. Q7–Q8 — Measure and publish: outcome measurement, white paper, replication toolkit

  5. Beyond Phase 1 — Scale: the ₹30 Crore national programme

06 — Measurement

How progress on this project will be judged.

These measures are defined before implementation, so that the project can be evaluated on its results rather than its activity.
  • Certification completion — target 80%
  • Classroom implementation — target 70%
  • Student improvement projects — target 500
  • Scalable innovations identified — target 20
  • Policy white paper published
  • Replication toolkit published
  • Funds raised and funds deployed against the published budget bands

Awaiting publication

Impact data will be published as implementation progresses

The Council does not attribute outcomes to a project until they have been measured against a defined baseline. When results exist for this project, they will appear here and on the Impact page — including any that fall short of what was hoped for.
